Introducing GTP: Our new polyethylene production facility
Golden Triangle Polymers Company LLC (Golden Triangle Polymers) is a joint venture of Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LLC (51%) and an indirect subsidiary of QatarEnergy (49%). A new petrochemical facility is currently being built by the joint venture company on the U.S. Gulf Coast, in Texas. The startup of the facility, that includes an ethylene unit with a capacity of 2,080 KTA and two polyethylene units with a combined capacity of 2,000 KTA, is expected in 2026 under CPChem’s operational management.
Sustainable Growth
CPChem is strengthening its leadership in the polyethylene market with the construction of the world’s largest petrochemical facility of its kind, through the Golden Triangle Polymers joint venture in Texas. This strategic investment expands production capacity, enhances operational reliability and integrates innovative, more sustainable manufacturing practices. We're committed to meeting the rising global demand for polyethylene and supporting our customers with high-performance solutions, today and into the future.
Competitive Advantage
CPChem is expanding global access to its premium high-density polyethylene (HDPE) by leveraging its proprietary MarTECH™ loop slurry technology. This advanced process enables increased production of high-quality HDPE, with additional volumes primarily destined for Asia, Europe, Africa, and Latin America, enhancing supply reliability and supporting growing demand in these key regions.
Operational Excellence
CPChem brings decades of proven expertise in building, commissioning, and operating world-class petrochemical assets across the globe. By drawing on its deep foundation of Operational Excellence, CPChem will uphold its rigorous safety and reliability standards as it delivers this major project.
Supply Chain Network

Lower GHG Emissions
The new facility will utilize energy-efficient, modern technologies including recycling high-hydrogen fuel in ethylene furnaces, an advanced ethane refrigeration system and ethane feedstock, which emits fewer greenhouse gases than naphtha. Together, these innovations are expected to result in significantly lower GHG emissions compared to similar facilities worldwide.
At CPChem we are investing in the future. Our ambition is to maintain and strengthen our position as a leading and trusted global polyethylene supplier, continuing to offer high-quality products, excellent customer service and strong technical support to our growing customer base.
