New Plant Manager Appointed to Chevron Phillips Chemical’s Orange Plant

ORANGE, TEXAS (March 30, 2007) - Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LP (Chevron Phillips Chemical) announced the appointment of Wayne McDowell as plant manager of its Orange, Texas polyethylene manufacturing facility.  McDowell replaces Don Sitton, who has elected to retire after 32 years of service.

McDowell most recently served as manager of the environment, health, & safety (EH&S)  and technical departments at Chevron Phillips Chemical's Pasadena Plastics Complex.

McDowell began his career as a plant engineer with Warren Petroleum in 1981 after earning his degree in chemical engineering from the University of Missouri - Rolla.  He held several positions of increasing responsibility with Warren Petroleum until accepting an overseas assignment in Kazakhstan with Chevron Overseas Petroleum Company in 1993.  In 1998, McDowell returned to the United States and began working as a process engineering superintendent at Chevron Chemical Company's Cedar Bayou Plant.  When the Chevron Phillips Chemical joint venture was formed, McDowell served as the operations supervisor at Cedar Bayou's ethylene unit until his reassignment to the Pasadena Plastics Complex in 2004.

McDowell and his family will reside in Orange.
