Multiple Chevron Phillips Chemical facilities receive 2022 ACC Responsible Care® Safety Awards, Orange Plant Wins 2022 Energy Efficiency Award

Nine Chevron Phillips Chemical sites received awards from the American Chemistry Council, including the 2022 Responsible Care® Safety Award and the 2022 Energy Efficiency Award. 

These awards recognize leaders in the chemical industry that have demonstrated exceptional safety performance throughout the year and those facilities that have made commendable achievements in improving energy efficiency while reducing environmental impacts.

For the Responsible Care® Safety Awards, five CPChem plants won the Certificate of Excellence, awarded to facilities with zero deaths, zero days away from work cases and zero job transfers or restriction cases, according to OSHA guidelines among both employees and contractors:

  • Borger, Texas
  • Conroe, Texas
  • Orange, Texas
  • Port Arthur, Texas
  • Bartlesville, Oklahoma

Four CPChem sites earned the Certificate of Honor, awarded to facilities with zero deaths, zero days away from work cases and zero job transfer or restriction cases, according to OSHA guidelines for employees in 2022:

  • Cedar Bayou, Baytown, Texas
  • Sweeny/Clemens/Old Ocean, Texas
  • Kingwood, Texas
  • Drilling Specialties Lab in Conroe, Texas

Additionally, CPChem's Orange plant received the Energy Efficiency Award with exceptional merit as a result of innovations related to fuel combustion and energy reuse.

Alongside other ACC award recipients, CPChem representatives were honored at the 2023 Responsible Care & Sustainability Conference & Expo on April 17 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
