Chevron Phillips Chemical Names 2011 Dependent Scholarship Recipients

THE WOODLANDS, Texas (April 13, 2011) - Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LP (Chevron Phillips Chemical) announced today it has awarded its 2011 Chevron Phillips Chemical Dependents' Scholarships to 31 outstanding students. The annual scholarship program offers new scholarships to employees' dependents, including 25 undergraduate scholarships, 5 graduate scholarships and one special memorial scholarship.

"Education is a top priority at Chevron Phillips Chemical," said Pete Cella, president and CEO. "We are proud of the successes of our employees' children and are pleased to invest in their future through this scholarship program."

During the scholarship selection process, students' academic records are carefully reviewed, as well as other factors, including leadership and participation in school and community activities, special honors, work experience, stated goals and aspirations, and unique personal or family circumstances. Scholarship applicants are also asked to provide recommendations from their advisers, teachers or employers.

These new scholarship recipients join the 75 current students who are helping fund their education through Chevron Phillips Chemical scholarships. The company will award a total of $208,000 in scholarships during the 2011-2012 school year.

This year's recipient of the Rodney Gott Memorial Scholarship was additionally announced: Cody S. Pepper will receive a $5,000 scholarship for the 2011-2012 school year.
