Chevron Phillips Chemical Announces New Leadership


THE WOODLANDS, Texas (August 20, 2008) - Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LP (Chevron Phillips Chemical) today announced the promotion of Peggy Colsman to Vice President, Information Technology and Chief Information Officer and Charleen Dickson to Vice President, Environmental Health and Safety.

Peggy Colsman most recently served as Chevron Phillips Chemical's Manager, IT Strategy and Risk Management. She joined the company in 2005. Colsman began her career at Shell Oil Company in 1985 and held various information technology positions. In 1994, she joined Lyondell Chemical Company and served in several IT management positions. In 2001, she was named Vice President, Information Technology for Hanover Measurement Services Company LP.

Colsman earned a Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Arizona and an MBA from the University of Houston. She is a member of Women In Technology International (WITI) and has received numerous awards for outstanding leadership and technical skills.

Charleen Dickson is Vice President of Chevron Phillips Chemical's Environmental Health & Safety Department, where she has global responsibility for support of the company's environmental, health, safety, security, product stewardship, OE reviews, and process safety risk management. She was named to this position after serving as manager of the company's Sweeny Plant since 2006. As Plant Manager, Dickson was responsible for more than 700 employees and contractors working at the Sweeny facility.

Dickson began her career with Chevron Corporation in 1982, where she worked in various engineering and supervisory roles. In 2001, she was named Plant Manager of the company's Orange facility. Dickson also served as Operations Manager at the company's Cedar Bayou Plant. 

Dickson received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Tulane University and has received numerous Chevron Chemical Quality Improvement Awards, as well as Chevron Phillips Chemical's Medallion Award for Outstanding Service.

Other Chevron Phillips Chemical employees who have recently moved into key leadership roles:
Mark Amelunke, former Global Business Development Manager, has been promoted to General Manager, Engineering Polymers. Mark will report to Mark Haney, Senior Vice President, Specialties, Aromatics & Styrenics.

Joe Prather, formerly Styrenics General Manager, has been promoted to Polyethylene Business Manager. Joe will report to Dave Smith, Vice President, Polyethylene. 

Ron Corn, formerly Polyethylene Business Manager, has been promoted to Global Business Development Manager. Ron will report to Mark Lashier, Vice President, Corporate Planning & Development.

Effective September 1, 2008, Wayne McDowell, currently the Plant Manager at Orange, Texas, has been appointed Plant Manager, Sweeny Complex, replacing Charleen Dickson. Wayne will report to Rick Roberts, Senior Vice President, Manufacturing.

Also effective September 1, 2008, Gary Piana, currently Technical and EH&S Manager at Pasadena, has been appointed Plant Manager at Orange, replacing Wayne McDowell. Gary will report to Rick Roberts, Senior Vice President, Manufacturing.
