How ERGs foster belonging at CPChem

Employees holding SPIRIT flag

At Chevron Phillips Chemical, creating a culture of Caring by Choice is more than a statement, it’s a commitment we live every day. We want every employee to feel a true sense of belonging, where diverse perspectives are not only welcomed but celebrated.

That’s why, in 2020, we introduced Employee Resource Groups (ERGs): communities where employees can grow, connect and bring their authentic selves to work.

What are ERGs and why do they matter?Employess in building

Our ERGs are voluntary, employee-led groups open to everyone. They play an essential role in strengthening our culture by fostering inclusion, encouraging collaboration and supporting personal and professional development.

More than that, ERGs help power our business. They drive engagement, spark innovation and create space for diversity of thought, helping us grow stronger together.

Making an impact: The power of the 4Cs

Across CPChem, ERGs contribute meaningfully through what we call the 4Cs: Colleagues, Company, Culture and Communities. In 2025 alone, our ERGs delivered more than 130 events, each one making a difference in its own way.

Supporting our Company

Through six company-focused events with a combined attendance of 89 employees, ERGs have helped us attract and retain top talent, foster innovation and strengthen our competitive edge.

They also collaborate with external partners and internal teams, such as working with local chambers of commerce and highlighting inclusive employee benefits.

In action:

  • Our PRIDE ERG led a company-wide initiative to increase awareness of LGBTQIA+ safe spaces, launching a Safe Space Pledge and program that reinforces inclusion and belonging across CPChem.

Empowering our Colleagues

With 43 events and over 1,775 participants, ERGs created opportunities for employees to connect, develop and thrive. From professional development workshops to networking sessions, these initiatives build a workplace where people feel supported, respected and inspired.

In action:

  • BELIEVE hosted a roundtable discussion on effective leadership with CPChem leaders
  • InspirAsian led a forum on how to make the most of one-on-one meetings for career growth

Strengthening our Culture

A thriving workplace culture is built on trust, collaboration and shared experiences. Through 50 events reaching 2,551 participants, ERGs fostered a sense of community while raising awareness around important topics and celebrations.

In action:

  • GLOW organized breast cancer awareness walks and activities, highlighting an issue that impacts many
  • SPIRIT partnered with tribal officials to raise awareness around Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women’s Day

Giving back to our Communities

Our ERGs also extend their impact beyond the workplace. Through 35 events and 89 volunteer service hours, they supported local initiatives, strengthened partnerships and gave back to the communities where we live and work.

In action:

  • HOLA distributed food to 175 households in the Baytown community
  • VETNET members honored veterans by placing flags at more than 150 gravesites

Meet our ERGs

Each ERG brings its own focus and energy, contributing to a stronger, more inclusive CPChem:

  • BELIEVE (Black Employees Leading in Inclusion, Education, Vision, and Excellence) – Established in 2021 to support the development, recognition and advancement of Black employees.
  • GLOW (Growth, Leadership and Opportunities for Women) – Launched in 2020, this group focuses on addressing challenges and advancing opportunities for women.
  • HOLA (Hispanic Origin Latin Advancement) – Founded in 2022, HOLA supports Hispanic and Latin American employees through development, networking and recognition.
  • InspirAsian – Also launched in 2022, this group creates a supportive environment for Asian employees to thrive and reach their full potential.
  • PRIDE – Founded in 2021, PRIDE is dedicated to fostering an inclusive culture where LGBTQ+ employees feel safe, valued and empowered.
  • SPIRIT – Introduced in 2024, SPIRIT supports Native American employees and promotes awareness of their experiences and perspectives.
  • VETNET – Established in 2023, this ERG connects veterans, active military members and allies to share experiences, build networks and support the broader veteran community.

Moving forward together

Our ERGs are more than groups, they are catalysts for connection, growth and impact. They help shape a workplace where everyone can belong, contribute and succeed.

As we continue to build our Caring by Choice culture, we’re proud of the role ERGs play in supporting our people, strengthening our business and making a difference far beyond our walls.
