Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Chevron Phillips Chemical thrives on a blend of experience levels, cultures, talents, perspectives and decision-making styles.

Our employees and our business thrive on a blend of experience levels, cultures, talents, perspectives and decision-making styles.

Healthy Collaboration

We encourage global communication among our employees because the best solutions are developed when people from a variety of backgrounds come together to build upon each other’s knowledge. Much like the blending of high-quality ingredients makes a superior chemical product, blending the unique skills and talents of a diverse workforce creates a superior chemical company.

ICARE Principles

Diversity is fundamental to the quality of our products and services, and crucial to our continued success. We are committed to fostering an inclusive workplace, and we have carefully crafted a set of principles to guide our behavior. These principles are known collectively by the acronym ICARE.

  • Inclusion: Assure everyone on the team is a part of the team; pertains to how we make decisions.
  • Cooperation: Help each other to succeed; relates to how we work together.
  • Accountability: Assure our own and others’ behaviors contribute to a positive, diversity-friendly workplace; pertains to how we manage our environment.
  • Respect: Treat others with dignity and consideration; relates to how we treat each other.
  • Everyday: Exhibit these behaviors in every encounter, every day.

Employee Resource Groups

ERGs are voluntary, employee-led groups that provide support in personal and career development. Our first ERG, STRIVE, was introduced in 2020 and focuses on the unique challenges women face in the workplace. In 2021, PRIDE (focused on LGBTQ+ employees) and BELIEVE (focused on Black employees) were created and have high employee engagement. In 2022, CPChem bolstered its DE&I program by welcoming three additional ERGs: HOLA (focused on Hispanic and Latin American employees), InspirAsian (focused on Asian employees) and VETNET (focused on veterans and active military employees). In 2024, SPIRIT (focused on Native American employees) rounded out our lineup of ERGs.

ERG members collaborate and build high-trust relationships that educate and add value to the company. These approachable groups are open to all employees and bring awareness to our workforce on social topics, advance our diversity strategy and encourage important conversations at work and at home.
