Organosulfur chemicals are the preferred reagents for catalyst sulfidation. These compounds improve initial catalyst activity and lengthen production cycles for NiMo, CoMo, NiW, and CoW hydrotreating catalysts. Sulfides, disulfides, and polysulfides are the most popular sulfur delivery agents for this application. More information on general presulfiding conditions is available. We also offer catalyst sulfiding services. Sulfide reagents can also be used to introduce organosulfur groups into target organic molecules. In addition to their use as catalyst sulfidation agents, polysulfides are commonly used in the formulation of lubricant additives for extreme pressure functionality. Polysulfides with both high and low active sulfur are available to meet your metalworking or lube additive needs.
