Chevron Phillips Chemical Reference Fuels are used to establish the quality or performance characteristics of various fuels used in commercial and industrial applications. Reference fuels are not generally used as fuels in transportation vehicles.
For analyzing fuel quality, we supply a broad range of reference fuels. Also, a variety of reference fluids are offered to meet your destructive testing needs.
Our product line includes primary reference fuels for gasoline octane analysis, secondary diesel reference fuels for cetane analysis, and reference fuels used to establish Avgas quality. These products are available in five- and 54-gallon containers.
All reference fuels are produced in our Borger, Texas facility from petroleum feedstocks. Some fuels are certified to a specification. Other fuels rely on test results from multiple laboratories. A statistical package is compiled and published to establish the fuel parameters, including the standard deviation, as accurately as possible.
Directions on the use of these products are covered in various editions of The American Society for Testing and Materials Manuals for Rating Motor, Diesel and Aviation Fuels. |
