Compared to other engineering plastics, Ryton® PPS has outstanding dimensional stability both in terms of precision moldability and long-term dimensional integrity. The low melt viscosity and low mold shrinkage (typically 0.002 to 0.005 in/in) of Ryton® PPS compounds make it possible to reproducibly mold thin walled and complex parts to tight tolerances with low warpage. Typical molding tolerances are ±0.001 in/in, and even tighter tolerances can be achieved in small, optimally gated parts. Furthermore, the high modulus, high HDT, extremely low creep behavior, and wide-ranging chemical resistance of Ryton® PPS compounds ensure that parts will retain their dimensional integrity over an extended period of time, even at elevated temperatures and in hostile chemical environments.
