Performance Pipe’s HDPE Pipe Used to Replace Fused PVC Pipeline PLANO, TEXAS (May 19, 2008) - Responding to a request from contractors working in the city of Naples, Fla., Performance Pipe has shipped 550 feet of high density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe to replace a 30-inch fused PVC water pipeline which failed in operation in a section of the city. Local media in Naples reported in the first week of May that Collier County utilities were rerouting drinking water to thousands of customers in East Naples while crews repaired a break in a new water main along Collier Boulevard. The original pipeline was installed with fused PVC. Media reports also say the latest failure follows two previous failures experienced during installation of the PVC pipeline.
