Blown Film

The blown film process is the most diverse conversion system used for polyethylene. ASTM defines films as less than 0.254 mm (10 mils) in thickness. The blown film process can produce materials as thick as 0.5 mm (20 mils). Usage of monolayer and multilayer coextrusion technologies lay the groundwork for the many possibilities to approach an applications need.

Food and retail packaging applications need higher clarity while industrial packaging applications do not. Some food packaging needs strength; others need tearablility. Non-packaging applications range from agricultural films to hygiene film, both with very different optical and toughness requirements. Each of these applications has unique needs.

If you need your film to provide high clarity and gloss, superior toughness, oxygen and moisture vapor control or good heat sealing performance, mPact™ is the perfect choice the mPact™ product range includes mLLDPE with densities starting from 0,916 g/cm3, but CPChem also features mMDPE resins with densities ranging from 0,928 to 0,942 g/cm3for packaging applications requiring a combination of high modulus and excellent clarity.

Our multiple technology platforms, combined with our innovative research and development team allow us to provide customers with a broad range of resins to meet the many unique needs of film applications. Our world-class sales and marketing team and highly experienced technical support team can assist customers with resin selection, process optimization and application development.
