Low-Temperature Fluidity

The excellent low-temperature viscometrics of PAOs provide increased protection and fluidity in many applications. PAOs offer both low pour points and low viscosity properties that make cold-weather starting easier by reducing strain on engine parts, batteries and starter motors. During engine start-up, lower viscosities allow the lubricant to flow and lubricate the necessary parts of an engine.

The extremely low pour points of traditional PAOs are valuable assets when formulating products that do not inherently have low pour points. Flowability at low temperatures can be a real benefit, not just in arctic conditions, but for a variety of applications in which equipment is subjected to very low temperatures.
