Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LP ("CPChem") is committed to meeting its obligations under the REACH Regulation and is taking the necessary measures to continue its commercial interests in the European Union (EU) as appropriate.

Pre-Registration
CPChem has appointed its EU subsidiary, Chevron Phillips Chemicals International N.V. ("CPCI"), as Only Representative to pre-register all substances currently imported by CPCI in the EU. (“Substances”)

At this time, CPChem does not intend to register the volumes of Substances imported directly or indirectly in the EU by its customers.  CPChem therefore recommends that its customers pre-register or ensure that their EU importers pre-register the Substances as required under the REACH Regulation in order to secure their supply chain into the EU. 

Registration
CPCI has initiated Consortia efforts for most of its substances subject to REACH.  Use and Exposure Data is currently being collected in-house.  Further customer collaboration will be necessary in 2009 to ensure accuracy of USE and Exposure Scenarios to be registered.
