During the past few years, Chevron Phillips Chemical has improved energy efficiency and reduced the emissions of our operations. Our strategy is to focus on continuous improvement by striving to learn from our experience and those of others, and to apply scientific, economic and technical analysis to adopt best practices. A few of these accomplishments are highlighted below:

• Globally, our greenhouse gas intensity (pounds of carbon dioxide per pound of product) was reduced 18 percent between 2001 and 2006.
• At U.S. facilities, nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions were reduced by 27 percent between 2001 and 2006.
• Total air emissions from U.S. facilities were reduced 18 percent between 2001 and 2006.
• Chevron Phillips Chemical is an Operation Clean Sweep Program partner and strives for zero plastic pellet losses into the environment.
• Chevron Phillips Chemical is committed to capital improvements at its U.S. facilities. These projects relate to complying with environmental regulations and improving energy efficiency per pound of product produced.
• We engage stakeholders through open and honest communication to support a balanced accounting of the company’s activities. Timely reports are issued to review past performance, explain company policy and inform the public of current activities.
