Poly Block™ LCM

Poly Block™ LCM, is a blended Lost Circulation Material specifically created to work in large vugular and cavernous formations.  By hydrating and expanding within the formation with time and temperature, Poly Block™ LCM works where other products fail.

Advantages:

  • Mixes Easily and Rapidly
  • No special equipment required for pill placement
  • Acts quickly to seal severe loss zones 
  • Can be used to cure loss of circulation when using WBM, OBM, or SBM
  • Can be pumped through the existing down hole assembly
  • One sack system that does not require additional LCM

Applications:

No special equipment is required.

Unweighted:

Add 80 bags of Poly Block™ LCM to a clean pit with 45 bbls of freshwater.
Do not add caustic or lime!
Pump immediately!
 

Weighted to 12 ppg:

To fresh water, add 0.5-0.75 ppb Xanthan Gum
Do not add caustic or lime!
Add barite to desired density
Add 80 ppb of Poly Block™ LCM through the hopper, while mixing add a small stream of water to compensated for water absorbed by the barite.
Pump immediately!

Weighted from 12 ppg to 17 ppg

To fresh water add 6 ppb of API bentonite
Do not add lime or caustic
Add barite to desired density
Add 60 ppb of Poly Block™ LCM through the hopper, while mixing add a small stream of water to compensate for water absorbed by the barite.
Pump immediately!

Spot the mixture across the zone of interest and perform a gentle squeeze (150-250 psi).

Do not add this material directly to the active system.
