    Safety & Environment

Our company creates products and services that make life better for people around the world - both today and tomorrow. As a matter of policy, Chevron Phillips Chemical strives to manufacture, handle, transport and dispose of its chemical products 100 percent safely.

Pasadena Plastics Complex received the Texas Chemical Council awards recognizing performance excellence in 2014 for community awareness, emergency response, security, pollution prevention and safe operations.

    Community Involvement

Pasadena Plastics Complex takes pride in its involvement within and around the community and is active in many other industry organizations. In the Pasadena community, our contributions and volunteer efforts focus on four areas:  Education, Community, Environmental Stewardship and Philanthropy.

Education and school involvement is a priority. We reach out to students of all ages and grade levels by:
    • Supporting reading programs and mentoring at a local elementary school
    • Funding assistance for the Pasadena ISD robotics team
    • Sponsoring the McDonald’s Texas Invitational Basketball Tournament
    • Providing scholarships and internships to San Jacinto College students

As part of our on-going outreach effort to the community, the Pasadena site participates in many different ways.

    • The Emergency Response Team joins other area Fire Departments to participate in the Fire Prevention Parade and also provides demonstrations to students on home safety during fire prevention month
    • In partnership with the Pasadena Industrial Neighborhood Network assists residents in the community with home repair needs
    • Sponsors the annual Pasadena Livestock Show and Rodeo, as well as the Pasadena Strawberry Festival.
In the area of environmental stewardship, Pasadena Plastics Complex contributes to the Armand Bayou Nature Center and sponsors the annual Trash Bash Event focusing on clean-up of area waterways. This event is particularly important to our employees and their families who volunteer at the event each year.

Through our philanthropic efforts we provide direct support to local organizations and programs including:
    • The Bridge Over Troubled Waters
    • Project Joy and Hope
    • Friends of the Library
    • Officer Santa
Through the Chevron Phillips Chemical Good Neighbor grant program, support is given to the causes and organizations where our employees donate their time. Examples of supported programs may include an animal rescue, a baseball team, a volunteer fire department or Habitat for Humanity.
