    The Knoxville plant began its operations in 1961 as Extron, a custom extrusion plant. The plant began extruding polyethylene in 1967. Extron was later bought by the Pipeline Service Company in 1970. Its name was later changed to Plexco in 1973. The first gas pipe production began in 1968. The Plexco plant was then purchased by Chevron in 1989 and the plant became part of Performance Pipe, a division of Chevron Phillips Chemical Co., LP, in 2000. 

    The Knoxville facility is located on 12 acres of land in the eastern region of Tennessee.  The Knoxville facility is ISO 9001 certified. 

    Products Produced

    High and medium density polyethylene DriscoPlex® - Gravity flow and pressure pipe systems designed for landfill, coal bed, natural gas gathering systems, underground gas distribution and service, water and wastewater distribution, process piping, and slurry and tailings lines in the mining industry throughout North America.
