Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LP (CPChem) has been supplying high performance chemicals to the Mining industry for over 60 years. The products include international recognized Orfom®, Molyflo® and Philflo® brands used for solvent extraction, flotation, mineral collection, and depression. CPChem has experienced staff in producing, developing solutions and delivering products worldwide to support this industry which includes Metallurgical Laboratory and Logistics (Tucson, AZ), Product Development Chemists (Bartlesville, Oklahoma), Technical Development and Supply Chain (The Woodlands, Texas) and Technical Sales and Marketing (Worldwide).
The Orfom® SX Diluents consist of tightly controlled petroleum distillates to synthetically produced iso-alkanes to optimize operational safety and performance. The Orfom® SX-80, SX-12 and SX-7 are the workhouse products designed for rapid phase break and low evaporative losses. The Orfom® SX-11 is designed for high temperature leach circuits.
Our Orfom® and Molyflo® Collectors are continually demonstrating the ability to optimize the recoveries of sulfide based minerals. The Orfom® and Molyflo® Hydrocarbon based collectors increase recovery of Molybdenum and Molybdenum/Copper sulfide mineral ores. The Orfom® Sulfur based collectors are proprietary blends that show significant recovery increases of floatable mineral sulfides like Molybdenite and Chalcocite. We have continually demonstrated increases of recovery of three percent or better in a variety of ore bodies.
The Orfom® D-8 Depressant is a highly effective depressant for Pyrite and Galena during the flotation of Molybdenite, Chalcocite and other sulfide ores. The product can be added to the primary grinding stage with other depressants such as Nokes in a primary Molybdenum mine, or to the cleaner stages to successfully make grade.
The Philflo® Flotation Oils are specifically designed for the flotation of Potash and Phosphate minerals where coarse grind recovery is necessary. These proprietary blends continually demonstrate the ability to increase recoveries with respect to commonly used hydrocarbons.
CPChem also offers a number of other propriety products including Frothers, Tannins and collectors for Platinum/Palladium. In addition we are continually developing new products to provide solutions to difficult problems in the operation.
