Oxidative Stability

Superior Oxidative Stability

PAOs offer increased stability in the presence of oxygen and greater resistance to oxidation. PAOs are extensively used in lubricants and other applications where the resistance to oxidation and the response to additives is important. This is especially true in applications, including automotive, compressor or other industrial lubricants, where extended drain intervals require the base oil to be more stable in the presence of oxygen.

These superior qualities are a result of PAOs being free of impurities such as the heterocyclic and sulfur-containing molecules found in mineral oils that compete with antioxidants to reduce the overall oxidative stability.
