Chevron Phillips Chemical makes debutanized aromatic concentrate (DAC) at its plant in Sweeny, Texas. Chevron Phillips Chemical also makes this product at its plants in Port Arthur and Cedar Bayou, Texas, where it is known as raw pyrolysis gasoline (RPG).

How It's Made

DAC (RPG) is a byproduct of ethylene production.

What It's Used For

DAC (RPG) is hydrogenated to produce hydrogenated pyrolysis gasoline (HPG) and heavy aromatic distillate (HAD).
